How Did I Get Here?
I was thrilled to discover something that allowed me to embrace my creativity and skills behind-the-scenes, and I found myself getting so excited about helping to grow and optimize other people’s businesses! I worked on several other projects as a Virtual Assistant over the years, and in 2024, I knew it was time to get serious and create a legitimate business around my services. Hearthside Virtual was born.
I have worked as a career hairstylist since 2012, and it’s still something I love to do on occasion, but running Hearthside Virtual is my full-time job now, and it’s been an awesome transition. I wake up every day excited to meet new people, develop new relationships, and support my clients as their businesses thrive.
In 2022, I accidentally became a Virtual Assistant.
I’ve had an entrepreneurial spirit since the day I could open my mouth. As a kid, I was always dreaming and scheming ways to make money, start new projects, and implement exciting new ideas. This continued into my teen years and early adulthood.
Eventually, this drive and passion led me to create a variety of things…from a travel blog to a jewelry business to a podcast and even a home-based hair salon.
Throughout all of these ventures, I developed a widely varied skillset. If I didn’t know how to do something, I would obsessively research it, try it, and ask questions until I figured it out. All of these experiences also led me to amass a huge network of people - many of whom were also entrepreneurs themselves.
With constant dedication, my different projects all became successful eventually. There was just one problem - I realized didn’t want to be the one in the spotlight.
Around the time that I had this revelation, the stars aligned, and an online acquaintance who I’d known for several years reached out to me to let me know she was looking for a Virtual Assistant. I didn’t even really know what that meant, but after she explained it to me, I jumped at the opportunity. Two and a half years later, and I’m still working with that same person today, and I absolutely LOVE what I do.
